My name is Dina Benayad-Cherif and I am currently a senior at Lexington High School in Lexington, MA. (Go Sox!) I come from a family of scientists so it was easy to get into the STEM fields with so many scientific books lying around! I also have an amazing older brother who's in college.

I love to snowboard, watch incessant episodes of The Big Bang Theory and Parks and Recreation, eat unhealthy amounts of mozzarella cheese, watch TED Talks, and listen to NPR’s Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me!

For the past several years, I have been building rockets, volunteering at an organismic and evolutionary biology lab, and instructing snowboarding to underprivileged kids from inner city Boston!

To be completely honest, I still do not know what I'd like to do… but it is okay! I think it's fine to keep the future a little mysterious. I can see myself pursuing my two passions for biology and computer science or maybe combine the two and pursue bioinformatics.

My week in Los Angeles was the most unforgettable experience. My fellow council members are incredibly bright and dedicated; it is an honor to be working alongside of them. The powerful women we have met are so passionate about their careers and their work; I aspire to follow their footsteps that
